A CERTIFICATION OF ULTRASOUND USE IN INTENSIVE CARE
A comprehensive, learner-focused 6-months course which comprises of a 2-day physical workshop, logbook assessment, board examination with an optional attachment program.
The workshop will include case discussions with critical care ultrasonography experts, theoretical insights, and hands on learning opportunities. The course is endorsed by the MSIC and would be the foundation of critical care ultrasonography for the Intensive Care fraternity of the nation.
Point of care ultrasound has come a long way since its introduction into the care of patients in the intensive care unit and since then, intensivists have evolved into a clinician that possesses a set of ultrasonographic skills for diagnosis and potentially therapeutics. However, standardization is a focal point of discussion world-wide in which clinicians require succinct skills and reliable measurements to make accurate clinical decisions that could potentially change the trajectory of a critically ill patient.
